This bowl is made from terracotta, basalt clay, glaze and slip.

This bowl is created by pulverizing earth toned clay bodies and ram-pressing them into shape. The surface is tooled with handmade wooden ribs to create opportunities for the clay to fracture, crack and respond to the stress and tension of the heat of the firing. The bowl is fired in oxidation to 1232°C. Each bowl has its own primitive qualities and embodies the bare essentials of life and artistic expression.
